  4.  @JH-lf4ql  firstly, they are economic illegal migrants, not refugees. Secondly, who made it illegal to protest exactly? Disturbing the peace and being a public nuisance has always been subject to arrest.

  5.  @JH-lf4ql  firstly, that’s fantastic for them. They are then legal. But technically you cannot be an asylum seeker to the UK. We are an island. Asylum seeker is a term that applies to someone who seeks asylum in the next safest country. It’s usually France, or Germany. Anyone coming to the UK for that reason is an economic migrant. Secondly, I happen to disagree with arresting anti royalist protestors. As a royalist myself it is completely their right and prerogative to protest. But it wasn’t peaceful, there were genuine thr*ats to life made. The police have to do what’s right in that scenario.

You cannot get citizenship unless you’re born there or a woman who marries an Emirati man. You can get residency permits but they can be removed, and you have to prove income and standing. They live in a beautiful, wealthy, safe, clean country. Where’s the outrage for the policies there? We should have EXACTLY the same policy here.

  14.  @JH-lf4ql  I am absolutely in favour of bringing in immigrants who will work. Skilled or unskilled. Whether they are doctors or builders. All good, subject to background checks and proof of funds. The issue is allowing ANYONE and EVERYONE to come here, and not only that, attempt to erode our culture and history. Not ok. Also, it’s not just “difficult” to attain citizenship in Dubai, it’s impossible bar being a woman marrying an emirati man. As it should be. If you move there, you are a guest, and you conform to their laws and customs or you are out. I support that wholeheartedly.
