  1. Stop repeating this bullsh1t American dream of ‘the people will rise up’ against the government. They won’t. The people have never risen up, not in the United States. The American Revolution happened because corporations and the rich rose up and then persuaded a percentage of the people to follow them. In fact, only about a third of colonials wanted to get rid of the British. Now you don’t even have that common enemy. The people on their own will never rise up against the government. It’s nonsense. They people are even less likely to rise up now than at any time in US history. Consumerism and the internet have ensured that. And what this means is that you can’t bank on it happening as some sort of protection from exploitation. If corporations and the rich rise up against the government, then something might happen. But since they are invested in the government, that won’t happen.
