@carloMr China did not steal this from anyone. They formally engaged a consortium from Alstom in France, Bombardier in Germany and Kawasaki and others in Japan. Look it up. Technology transfer was part of the deal.

@greebo7857 Hyperloops are simply a tactic to make high speed rail look less attractive. The technology is best suited to transferring cash around supermarkets and department stores, not people from city to city.

Nobody wants them and the people who need them can’t afford them. London has a suburb like that too. It’s part of the old ports area but not the Isle of Dogs. Can’t remember the name. There are architectural wastelands all over the UAE.

DunDeeoZ Well, two questions spring to mind. Firstly, what would these “cheat codes” unlock that they don't already have and secondly, why would Alstom, Bombardier and Kawasaki get into bed with them if they thought they were going to be ripped off? The proposition makes no sense.

tygonmaster On one point though; YouTube has a monthly global audience of 1.8 billion people, so the majority will not be American and since YouTubers make money on hits, it would be a poor market strategy to expect the rest of the world to use miles, solely on the basis of convenience for Americans. Users of non-metric units now comprise less than 5% of the world population.
