@SelfProclaimedEmperor No, there were only about three or four of them. Once the city was largely in Soviet hands, all anyone had to do was besiege the towers until the defenders gave up.

@stefanschleps8758 You're the one who said you refuse to fight and here you are fighting. And using hateful language like this: "But I refuse to fight someone who is mentally handicapped. Good luck with that brain damage you suffer, is that genetic?" That is a horrible thing to say so you are in no position to lecture anyone on manners. I cannot see your comment. Got that? I cannot see your comment. Either way, it's no excuse for that kind of language. I will say whatever I like and if you don't like it, bad luck.

How can you call this "The WWII Towers That Defeated The Soviets"? That's just dishonest. Of course they caused a lot of trouble. That is well documented in books like "The Last Battle" by Cornelius Ryan and "Berlin - 1945" by Antony Beevor. But don't create a false narrative like that. It's what Robert Forczyk would call "historical malpractice".

Ethan R "The french General actually DENIED reports of Germans smashing through the Ardennes. He completely ignored it, yes Belgium wasn't being cooperative, but that does not justified a gigantic gap in defense." French communications at the time were appalling and under attack at the same time. It would not surprise me if that was simply an honest mistake.

@totalfailforfun4721 The communications were so bad that on a few occasions units did not receive their orders until time had long past the point where they could have been acted upon. If someone denied reports the the Germans had come through the Ardennes, it may have been because he genuinely did not know or had not received the information from any kind of reliable source. It probably depends on how long after the Germans hit Sedan he made the statement.

@stefanschleps8758 Why did you even bother to post?

@stefanschleps8758 I can see no other posts from you and I'm not the one calling people hateful names.

Ornate Orator What?

@SelfProclaimedEmperor There were only three of them.

Matt Kierkegaard Are you serious? One is a concrete structure, a simple, inanimate object. The other was a union of 15 republics and 100 nations. There’s no possible comparison. BTW, if you care to read about it, the Soviet Union did not collapse. It was broken up by Yeltsin in 1991.

@totalfailforfun4721 The Maginot Line was the last part of France to Surrender and only then under great objection from its commanders.
