@ElanaVital83 Not paying attention to what? The police checks before the event? The parental supervision at the event? Or the threats of extreme violence by the people outside whose own dirty and violent minds are a much bigger problem?

I have a friend whose 5 year-old son has been living as a girl since he was 2, right down to the pronouns. Nobody told him his gender assignment was optional. His parents told him he’s a boy but he’s having none of it. All these things are intended to do is make children like him feel a little more comfortable in their own skin, in preparation for a life of being bullied and probably beaten simply for being who he is. Given that the DQ reading this story would have to pass police checks, given the presence of parents and given the febrile atmosphere that surrounds these events, with associated threats of violence, it would take someone with a pretty strong constitution to do it. Being gay has nothing to do with it. And it would take someone with a pretty twisted mind to think that it was paedophilia or the sexualisation of children.

@dreadfulspiller8766 Well, I certainly agree with that first bit. Nobody knows and he’s not allowed to have surgery until 18 anyway. I think the notion that there are doctors performing gender reassignment surgery on prepubescent and young teenage kids is a bit of a hoax. I’m not saying it doesn’t happen but I suspect too many people are treating it as ‘normal’, whereas it’s definitely not the norm. But the point I was making is that he’s got to have some kind of emotional support in the meantime. Trans kids have 15 times the suicide rate of the mainstream community. They have higher levels of substance abuse than the mainstream and they are one of the most sedentary communities because they are shunned by the mainstream. They are more likely to be the victims of violence than the mainstream and these things need a more enlightened perspective, rather than a vigilante approach. It’s become like a modern day version of burning witches.

So basically, you can't find an example of a drag queen from one of these shows who has ever been picked up for child abuse at any one of these sessions. Not a very good case, is it?
