@anthonym770 "German production had better everything but they made to many types of the same tank instead of streamlining production" That simply isn't true. German engineering has always been assumed to be better than anyone else's but there are some pretty significant examples of where it wasn't. The Germans never had: 1) an aircraft carrier or carrier-based air fleet, 2) a decent heavy bomber, 3) a proper landing fleet, 4) an equivalent of the P-51 or de Havilland Mosquito, 5) production lines like those of her enemies (I'm talking about methods and not size), 6) the atomic bomb. The last one is seriously important because, for all the fuss made about German scientists and engineers, they were never even close. This was the most advance project of the war by a country mile and while it took place mostly in the United States, used scientists from all over the world to build it.

@calripson It's overused and responsible for a huge number of misconceptions about the function of the Red Army. They didn't just win by having greater numbers.
