  1. Comparing the prototype F5 to a Hurricane, Spitfire or Bf-109 is a bit pointless, especially wing loading. The F5, as far as I'm aware, was never fitted with armament. Also, I don't think anyone thought radial engines were done. If they did, they mush have forgotten to tell Roy Fedden. Radials had a number of advantages, not the least of which was the ability to absorb battle damage.
