  1. @Jonny Croxville Do some research on how gun laws work in those modern neo-liberal democratic countries which have gun control. You will find that the “criminals will always get guns trope” doesn’t apply. The black market isn’t a place like Walmart where you just go in and jet your illegal gun off the shelf, pay and leave. An AR-15 costs about $1,000-$1,200 in the United States. In Australia, where that weapon is illegal, it costs about $35,000 on the black market. How many school shooters, fired employees, jilted lovers, house breakers, convenience store bandits and rapists are going to be able to afford that? And that explains why gun control works. It gets dangerous weapons out of the hands of the vast majority of people who would use them illegally. That’s why the murder rate in the United States is eight times what it is in those countries.

  2. @Jonny Croxville Apparently the only thing you know about gun laws is what your gun high priests tell you. It doesn’t take a lot of research and reading to find out how wide of the mark that comment is.

Nobody with a brain is and that includes any federal politicians. Secondly, this is bever just a matter of banning one type of gun. There are other things that go with it, like severe penalties for breeches. That exposes the seller to a far greater risk than in an environment where there are no consequences. And as any 10 year-old can tell you; as risk goes up, price goes up. "Are you insane?" Not as far as I know. They've never been able to hold me down long enough to complete their tests. "Mexico is right there. Big hypothetical. It won't happen" Mexico is supplied mostly from the US. It's not the supply that's the issue. It's the distribution. That's where the risk affects the most people.
