Fire Work47 Loads of companies are launching space vehicles. Look at all the different kinds of rockets that are used, like Delta, Atlas etc in the United States and that’s before you get to Blue Origin, who haven’t started commercial launches yet. There are also other, smaller companies in the micro satellite launch field, like Rocketlabs in New Zealand. Lots of companies are building electric vehicles and yes, they have done it independently. Toyota have been building and selling hybrid vehicles for over 20 years. That has allowed them to refine their engineering to a point where it is basically almost perfect (I know, I own one) and that has spilt over into all-electric vehicles because their batteries are fantastic. Hyundai are now producing an all-electric vehicle as are a number of others. Only the United States and Europe lag behind on this. Until relatively recently, the only Tesla cost over $100,000, making it uncompetitive in any market, unless you really wanted an electric car. Even then you had to put up with battery range claims that were frankly, nonsense. GM made an all electric car in the 1990s that they recalled for some reason but there was no doubts about its success.
