Nor Priest Irrelevant.

Nor Priest Is that the best you’ve got? I only have your word that he “destroyed“ anyone. What it has to do with his defamation case I don’t know. How is it even relevant? And am I expected to be hurt by you calling me Chinese (I’m Australian)?
27
Imagine if large private companies lied to you.
8
Adam G I’m sick of people expecting to have their personal prejudices confirmed by media. Grow up.
8
Jim Hofoss You might want to look into that. Musk had been Tweeting a lot of Trump-like stuff about supposed approval from the cave and when he turned up with this thing, he was told it wasn’t needed. When he went off in a petulant rage, Unsworth told him where he could shove his submarine. This was a publicity stunt.
4
Publicity stunt.
4
TheLazySlacker We’re already getting it thanks. Always grateful for it too.
4
Musk had no idea what he was dealing with. Neither do you. That sub would have been useless and there’s no way it could have gone to chamber 9 (still waiting for that video, Elon). These were not brilliant ideas. This was a calculated publicity stunt that blew up in his face. Calling Vernon Unsworth “pedo guy” was totally unjustified and did him reputational damage. Unsworth is suing him for defamation. The case goes to trial on December 3rd. When he’s finished in the US court, Unsworth will take him to the British courts, where Musk will have no chance at all. Unsworth will get a significant payout.

@barackobama129 Listen to the experts.
3
No he didn’t. There’s a law against it. It’s called defamation.
3
Well, your living treasure is showing some pretty poor judgement these days. 😂😂😂😂
2
Except he didn’t.
2
No excuse for calling him a pedo guy. That’s clear defamation. You can’t do that, no matter what Vernon Unsworth said.
2
Peter D Goes to trial on December 3rd. After that, Unsworth will sue him a British court where his case is even stronger and the potential payout a lot higher.💰
2
@peterd788 "Neither Unsworth nor Musk live in the UK and the old physically published in the UK rules for books and magazines do not apply to internet content." Well, the plaintiff has already lodged the necessary papers. "His latest attempt to justify his actions by saying in South Africa everyone calls everyone a paedo and it means nothing is ridiculous." That was laughed out of court in the October pre-trial. I don't think Musk is even using it now.

+PabloJay Give it time?!?!?!?!?! Really? Are you serious? It's already had 15 years.
1
+Anvarynn It will never be "finally ready". The testing budget is running out. L-M and the USAF are spinning that as "testing is almost complete". It's almost complete because there's no money left. Once the money runs out, the testing stops whether it's finished or not.

+BingBong Boopledoop It's not a binary choice. Think of stealth as electronic camouflage. Adding camouflage to an aircraft makes them hard to see. It started in WWI and is still with us, even though we have found ways to detect aircraft. Stealth doesn't make an aircraft undetectable. It makes it harder to detect but, like with camouflage, we have other ways of finding them and we are working out new ways all the time. Don't imagine for a minute that the West isn't looking for ways around stealth.
1
+BingBong Boopledoop I don't think anyone is claiming to have 100% defeated stealth any more than they have defeated camouflage. Furthermore, if you think the West isn't working on ways around it then you're probably wrong. "People are claiming "Stealth is defeated because someone got off a lucky shot that one time!" which is not supported by the evidence." Nobody said that, despite the fact that there's truth in it. Stealth mostly only works against X-band fighter radars but there are other types - including electro-optical systems - which can detect stealth types and fire on them. So, in fact, it is supported by evidence: https://warontherocks.com/2016/06/the-need-for-sead-part-ii-the-evolving-threat/ "Russia and China cannot match 1:1 the capabilities of these aircraft systems (notice I said systems because that's where the advantage is at.) so they put out propaganda and (in the case of China) they copy as fast as they can." What did China copy their plasma radar from? What did Russia copy their ROFAR from? What did they copy their active coatings from? "The F-35 isn't an air superiority fighter anyway." Now you're making excuses.

By the way, if you're going o complain about spying then how do you explain the fact that ALIS - a proprietary software which none of the partner F-35 nations is allowed to touch - is sending sensitive data back to the US against their customer's wishes and without their knowledge? http://www.news.com.au/technology/online/security/spy-f35s-send-sensitive-norwegian-military-data-back-to-lockheed-martin-in-the-united-states/news-story/12b4fafce6b579448cc8416518063d1f

Who asked if he was a paedophile?
1
Because Musk came in uninvited to drop off the kid sub and then cracked the shits and stormed off when told it wasn’t needed.
1
You’re on drugs.
1
Goes to trial on December 3rd.
1
dennis somers And if you listen, you’ll hear that it’s being treated as a homicide.
1
Cartoonishly Inept You mean the kid in Kenosha who had already killed an unarmed person? Listen genius, if the police thought it was self defence, they wouldn’t have charged him. CBC reported that as it was. And if there’s slander involved, it’s pretty minor compared to the video evidence.
1
Case goes to trial on December 3rd.
1
Donald Trump Well, it goes to trial on December 3rd. Musk is going to look pretty shabby after this, especially once Unsworth drags him through the British court system as well. The moral is that you’re not allowed to defame people.
1
British 1, South African-Americans 0.
1
Elon Musk Says Elon Musk 😂😂😂😂
1
No excuse for calling him “pedo guy”.
1
We don’t have the lakes to handle them like Canada does.
1
He doesn’t. That’s why it’s going to court, despite Musk’s attempts to have it dismissed.
1
And you’d be in court too! 😂😂😂😂
1
Case goes to trial on December 3rd.
1
That’s no excuse for defaming him.
1
@random_IIITK_2016 So tell me; what would you be saying if this was a Canadian-Chinese who was murdered by the Chinese government?
1
He’s going to have to prove it in court. He’s already tried to have it thrown out but was rejected. Goes to trial on December 3rd. There’s nothing suss about Vern Unsworth.
1
deefirst You’re going to need a good lawyer if you keep making comments like that.
1
Christopher Dunken ...and end up in court.
1
I don’t think gadgets are going to help here. Musk is not going to come out of this well.
1
Then try to buy Twitter under the guise of protecting free speech (really a blind for getting Trump back online). Vern Unsworth was eventually given a medal for his efforts to successfully rescue 13 people. If you read the books on the rescue mission, Vern Unsworth was a critical part of it and Musk was never a part of it.
1
Well he doesn’t and it’s gunna cost him.
1
@TheOneAerialShelff So true.
1
Peter D Well, as I said, the papers have already been lodged. I think they are simply waiting on the outcome of this case to decide whether or not to proceed. I think the quote from yesterday was actually from October. I read it too but it didn’t seem to come up in the part I read of today’s hearing. Musk is due back in the box tomorrow. As for the cost, lawyers work on a percentage basis and the loser is likely the one who will have to pay the court costs. Don’t forget too that defamation is tougher to fight under English law and the payout is usually a lot higher. The most the California court can order is $75,000.
1
42 jade I hope you’ve got a good lawyer.
1
The total payout will likely be less than half a million dollars. Musk can pay for that with pocket change. I just don’t understand why he’s fighting it. His case is hopeless and he knows it.
