Steve Lenores You’ve given up thinking, haven’t you? If I’m not shit canning them, I must be one of their employees or a SpaceX hater. No, I just like to see these things work, no matter who does them.

Delvin George It worked. Docking with the ISS was not a primary requirement of the mission, though it would have been nice if they could have.
2
Gary Peters Not an epic failure. Did you not listen? Docking with the ISS was not a critical part of the mission, though it would have been nice if they could have done it. Epic failure is when it blows up on the launchpad. See some of Scott’s “Why Rockets Fail” videos.

During the Gemini program they had a similar problem with crew on board but it was much, much worse. They fixed it by pushing a reset switch. Do we know if anything like that happened?

Is that porridge?

RockinRobbins13 SpaceX is not man rated yet. It will be soon but for the time being it isn’t.
1
RockinRobbins13 All of which is fixable. I’m just trying to figure out whether they had a reset switch they could hit that might have solved the problem.

Starliner safely down.
1
Steve Lenores It’s easy to be critical.
1
MrMattumbo You seem to have missed how that happened in the first place.
1
Chris Antoniou Agreed but calling the whole mission a failure, as many have done, is both wrong and unfair. These are very sophisticated machines. If it has say 3 million components and let’s say they have a tolerance of one in 100,000 then up to 30 things can be expected to fail.
1
Tim Dodd? As in “The Everyday Astronaut”? He’s no shill. He admits to being a SpaceX fan. He just sees the two as a lot closer together than wha5 everyone else on the internet does.
1
Full Circle Florida Now that would be an epic waste of money.
1
banana junior 9000 Rocket Labs are not in this market.
1
TheBussaca Riiiight... so let me see if I’ve got this correctly. Boeing share price would have been unaffected if the spacecraft had blown up on the launchpad because it’s a government program? Have I got that right?
1
It’s easy to be critical, eh, keyboard warrior?
1
WacKEDmaN No facts there. You’re claiming prescience after the fact. You’re also making a lot of assumptions about the outcome of the mission.
1
totenkopf999 Nobody died.
1
pulesjet Because they said they could do it cheaper.
1
Thomas Lucas All wrong. Didn’t you watch the video?
1
Ron Fullerton You sound like one of them haters.
1
Michael Woods No. They wanted two contractors.
1
Think there’s some porridge on it.
1
Ben Snow No one said that.
1
And leave it to the keyboard warriors to sit in judgement of things they think they understand. Way to go junior birdman...
