I still can't seem to get over how ugly it is. Its desirability factor is very low, for me anyway. No doubt demand will exceed supply.

Looks like a hippo. Maybe people like hippos.

Peugeot FTW. What a huge accomplishment for a car with so many disadvantages. I'd take it any day over the Nissan. Cool.
25
Beautiful car, great design, excellent review. If I had the chance, I'd probably buy one myself. Value seems pretty high as well.

Who cares about the numbers? That early Golf was a HOOT to drive, never seemed lacking for power, and was supremely comfortable and practical. Great car!

I’ve always enjoyed Steve’s reviews and his writing but I must disagree about the Mk4. I owned that car for many years and loved all of them. It did everything well, was comfortable, and very quick, all the while never giving any problems and always frugal on gas. Great car. Far as I know, someone is still driving it, an 04. I have yet to drive a Mk5 and this review has me even more tempted. Always nice to get confirmation, my daily driver is a Mk7. Great cars, these.

Anyone who doesn't see Porsche's progress with this new model is an idiot. jmo

BMW have a lot of explaining to do if they expect to sell any of these cars. smh
7
Mat's the best. Most enjoyable reviewer to watch.
6
Can you believe how many features Mat showed us in 2 minutes? Amazing. This is one cool vehicle.
6
This is not a change for the better. The last one was a better-looking car, sharper. The front looks like it wants to be a Boxster or a Ferrari, and the lights look like the new Astra. Not fresh at all. The E-class was a very pretty car; they should have left it alone. Regarding the journalist, he does a very good job and seems to take his work with no effort. A natural.
5
Poor value. So ugly. Get a Touring, and be done with it. jmo

It's always been stylish, you just never noticed. What ever happened to the Modus, another stylish little utility car?
4
Jack Rix-always a good review. Thanks for that. This car certainly seems like the new "hot hatch", all fat and big, but oh well. At the beginning of the vid, all those GLAs look a little sci-fi. Kinda neat.
3
The S Class is clearly a game-changer. It seems a bit unfair to compare it to the Audi, being newer-tech. I am amazed by this new car, but would still choose the A8 for myself, being the more dynamic car to drive.
3
+Imad S Yes, they have failed in that regard. Car sounds like crap. Not at all engaging. But it is progress regardless, that what I was commenting on.
3
It's amazing how just changing the headlights a little bit makes the car look different. Like it of not, they deserve credit for the refresh, as subtle as it is. They seem to be nicely keeping up with what is now required and what the public demands/wants.
3
This video should win an award. So polished. The content, the videography, the editing. And can't forget the freakin' car itself. Well done.
3
Great review, great video. It was obvious to me how much more the reviewer was smiling in the Jag, which indicates WAY more fun to drive, as good as the Porsche might be. I just don't trust the Jag will hold together over time like the Porsche will. Just depends on what you like.
3
Very good, detailed review. Well done!
2
Yes, Kia needs this car.
2
Excellent video, I must say, start to finish. I'm guessing the lightness of feel has something to do with this particular model being FWD. AWD tends to weigh things down in feel, imo, regardless of any handling advantages. Thanks. Audi is at it again...those vent controls are trick!
2
God help us, another SUV. Yuck. The video, by the way, was great. Someone earned their salary this month.
2
Nice review, ugly car. Sorry.
2
I applaud Kia for taking on a new market, with a clearly more youthful feel. Some of these young kids have tons of money...they're the only ones who will be able to afford it! The proof will be in the pudding.
2
Mind-boggling tour de force. Does anyone realize how advanced this car is? Everyone will be copying it in no time. Amazing. Now they just need to fix its looks.
2
Comes across very down-market, I'm afraid. And the review is so glowing you would think he was getting paid on the side by Jaguar. Class leader? Seriously? I think not.
2
I would have guessed the Porsche would win. Seems to me the Fiat is a toy, where the Porsche is more of a machine. Just a gut feeling.
2
Steve, I always enjoy your reviews. Thanks.
2
"smashed out of the park'...this is a very appealing new car, no question.
2
Looks great. Great review too.
2
Great review, especially the closing comments. Thanks, Jack.
2
Mat is engaging enough, but I would rather these reviews of the sports cars be done by Steve Sutcliffe of Simon; more experience, more polish. Mat just comes across as a kid driving his dad's car. Not cool.
2
Credit should be given to BIKE magazine for doing this-I still have the CD. And where were the Astons? They seem to have nailed exhaust sound across the range years ago. Regardless, LFA engineers should be most proud. That sound is spine-tingling.
2
Awesome! Right out of a science fiction movie. Love it.
2
Coffee anyone?
2
Looks fantastic, I just wish they would call it something else. Very boutique little thing.
1
This guy is trying way too hard to be Quentin Wilson. Probably better behind a desk than in front of a camera. Sorry.
1
Car looks pretty nice, really, but they should have made the trunk surround chrome, not plastic, which gives a really cheap impression to an otherwise upmarket car.
1
Good info but really? That video? Editor deserves better than an iPad for coverage. I think the suits need to reevaluate the budget, or was this just a bad decision on Steve's part. Hopefully that won't be how all away-from-home videos are shot.
1
Has some nice flair, that the GTI is lacking, as popular as the GTI is.
1
Very posh.
1
Very good review. Why isn't more said of the roof? It's so unusual and rare. Makes the car look unique, and not like a TT, though they clearly borrowed from the TT's proportions when designing this one.
1
The interior...it screams CHEAP. Poor choices. Outside, it looks great.
1
Sadly creates no desire. Car might be fantastic but the design is a failure. jmo
1
I don't know if the presenter always writes the piece, but this is a very very good review of the car. So, "to the point". Well done.
1
All this stuff is so subjective but for me personally, the Porsche is the icon if that kind of thing appeals to you, the Audi is the sexiest and the best value, and the McLaren is just plain ugly. Though fastest, I just couldn't have it. The Audi would have my money, but we all know they're all winners.
1
I would pay for the upgrade, just for the few times I would push the car. Why compare a DSG to a manual car? If it were the other way round, I think you might have liked the non-pack car better. 3 pedals is always better than 2.
1
Amazing concept. Toyota needs to build this. Everything else they make is so BORING.
1
Call me shallow Auto Express, but I hear this reviewer and immediately want to turn off the video. There was something more car enthusiast about Quentin Wilson (who this reviewer sounds so much like) but this gent just doesn't seem like a car guy, and for that these current videos are at a loss. jmo
