  1. I independently came to this precise conclusion as well. The egg from a non-chicken contained a bird which is a chicken. The egg came first.

  3. I have thought quite a bit about this question. Which came first, the chicken or the egg that hatches out a chicken? My answer is that a bird, not a chicken, laid an egg. This egg contained a bird embryo which would be defined as a chicken when an adult, a genetic abnormality from its non-chicken parent. So a chicken egg predates the first chicken. That's fairly narrow and your opinion may vary!
