  1. In the UK some German British citizens were interred in camps, only about 20,000, the rest either had some restrictions placed on them, or no restrictions at all (such as most Jewish refugees). I don't think they were forced to forfeit their assets though. I believe in the US some Germans of Latin American descent were interred. In some occupied countries in mainland Europe things got pretty bad towards the end of the war, being German, military or civilian, might get you shot if you stumbled across the wrong partisan group.
