It's always weird to me when people are surprised that animals are gentle around babies and children. Domestic animals have an instinct to treat human young as young of their own kind. I feel like many people underestimate how intelligent animals really are.

@darrenhinmon6623 Do you think all animals just see other creatures as predators or prey? You're not giving animals enough credit. We also have evidence now that some animal species can get along and be friendly when we previously thought they could only be predator and prey. Have you never heard the story of the Gorilla who learned sign language and asked for a kitten? They got her one and she looked after it very gently. Animals aren't stupid bro.

@darrenhinmon6623 Explain the people who are friendly with bears and keep them as pets and play with them everyday. Bears are stereotyped as aggressive wild creatures. We definitely didn't do breeding of any kind with them. They can still act passively towards humans, (there's multiple videos of wild bears walking beside humans on trails and even one of a wild bear fishing beside someone at a river), despite having the ability to crush us easily. Animals do not simply only have eat and kill instincts. Animals can be dangerous but they can also be friendly. It's situational. You just need to learn the signs animals are giving off to know how to treat them. This idea that all animals should be treated like they're going to maul us is absurd.

@ucanthandletruth4456 You're underestimating the intelligence of cats. Studies have actually found in some ways cats are smarter than people.

Cats care about their owners they just like being dicks. Like that sibling that always makes your life difficult but still would look out for you.
