Statistically no. Religion has spilled a lot of blood but not the most in human history. Territorial expansion holds that record.

The study of theology and practice of religious belief are very different things. You can study theology without even being religious. That quote is ridiculously bigoted.

Not even. At least people can walk away. You're not strapped down in place in a public area like the streets.

@APPR3NTIC3 It's important to differ between religion and organized religion. Religion is just a founded belief of followers. Organized religion is a structured institution.

@APPR3NTIC3 Humans have found many excuses to do territorial expansion but if the end goal was territorial expansion than any presented reason was just a false claim.

@zackbarkley7593 Not quite. Religion was original devised as man's way of explaining that which they did not have the science to explain. Later it became a method of keeping people under control.

@Honorbound43 I'm pretty sure Jesus was a lot more than just a socialist.

@zackbarkley7593 There has always been good faith actors and bad faith actors in religion and I think that's not going to change. Personally I believe in personal accountability and don't think an entire religion's people should be held accountable for the deeds of a few evil men.

I'd start screaming out Freyja songs in a metal voice if I heard people forcing Jesus music onto me on a plane. It's bad enough that they're forcing this religious bullshit on people but their voices are flat as hell. My biggest question is how did he get that guitar on his take on luggage. An acoustic guitar should be considered too big for take on luggage. That raises some questions.

@xjarheadjohnson I've studied multiple religions despite being a Pagan and I found quite a lot more than nothing. Mainly I used it as part of my studies of war history. For example the The 1527 Sack Of Rome when the Swiss Guard held the line against impossible odds relying only on their faith.

@dontaylor7315 The 189 standing in defense of the Pope showed remarkable bravery that to this day is still commemorated by the Swiss Guard.

@Honorbound43 All 3 of those things are sciences.

@raymondwilson-mccarty1900 That reminds me of when people take out of context quotes from people like Galileo and try to use it as an attack on religion. Thanks for providing more context to the ridiculous statement OP made. That makes a lot more sense.
