  3. @ Sure there is. It taught penmanship, culture, and it was an art form. Also, you still need to sign for things even today that require your signature, and I don’t just mean checks.

  7. Our kids are dumb. Look at all the HS grads that can’t read past a 2nd grade level? You’ll never be successful (barring very rare cases) if you’re not even literate.
