It's amazing how much more of a unified and coherent aesthetic the city used to have. from the countryside around it, to the infrastructure, buildings, shops, cars and buses, right down to the clothes and the people themselves. They all sort of... fit. I guess this is what an organic, high trust societylooks like.
Today it's like a bunch of strangers, shorn of any real culture and completely atomized, busy pulling down statues and renaming streets, desperate to flood itself with alien peoples and cultures out of hatred of itself. Only the historic buildings remain, like the skeleton of some long dead beast.
