"weird, nasty, vengeful groups of people start to play racial supremacist politics", I take it by this Douglas means doesn't mean literal supremacism (i.e. wanting to rule over other races), but rather simply ethnic or racial nationalism. Well guess what Douglas, that was basically all Europeans up until the 1960s. The first Congress of the United States limited citizenship to "free white persons", were they "weird, nasty people"? Winston Churchill supported a Conservative party election campaign to "keep Britain white", was he a "weird, nasty person"?
The trouble with people like Douglas is that they say they are willing to engage in debate and see their ideas challenged, but it's only with people from their left, so they never have to answer such critiques of their argument.
