As a foreigner myself, I think it's pretty terrible to move to a unique place, then tell the people there to flood it with foreign immigrants who will utterly destroy everything that once made it that way. If Japan starts down the road of massive immigration, it won't exist in a few generations. Saying "they need it for the economy" isn't even true, since immigrants eventually get old too and you need even more of them, the fix for demographic issues is to reform the economy so that people pay their own way and save for their futures individually rather than running pensions as a ponzi scheme where you need young people to pay for the old

The USA did not exist before British SETTLERS arrived, they were not immigrants since they founded and built the country. This would be as dumb as saying that the Ainu are the only natives of Japan and the ethnic Japanese are just "a nation of immigrants" (which Japanese liberals pushing immigration will probably be doing in a few years)
