  6. You're mistaken about assault rifle. The made up phrase is "assault weapon" Assault rifle is an established military definition; a select fire rifle firing an intermediate calibre cartridge. However so ce assault rifles are already heavily regulated liberals had to make up a phrase for semi automatic rifles that look like assault rifles but are not capable of automatic fire (such as the AR-15) because they wanted to ban them too.
