  1. People are saying "no no, it was the Russians", but that doesn't really make sense. The Russians gain nothing from convincing Ukrainian soldiers that if they surrender the Russians will kill them. On the other hand Ukraine most certainly does gain something from convincing their soldiers that they will kill them if they surrender. Same as those Assad supposed chemical weapons attacks on civilians that happened while they were winning the war, it simply didn't make any logical sense for the Syrians to do that.
