The inward investment point is interesting, we're always told "oh, international free trade makes countries rich", but Russia seems like a forced experiment which disproves this. Before sanctions, Russian capital fled abroad to wherever it got the highest returns, but was that really good for Russia? Similar to how when European countries joined to the EU to benefit from "free trade", what actually happened was that German industry outcompeted theirs and most of Europe ended up as a hollowed out post industrial shell (while Germany got super rich). Seems like most countries actually don't really benefit from unrestricted free trade, and the few who do are the ones pushing it on everyone else (the UK did this in the 19th century, the US did it in the 20th century etc) The UK just shut it last primary steel production facility, because if "free trade". Is that really a good thing?

What a cool place, and the cabin seems cozy but spacious
