Hanson is simply wrong when he says that before the Germans nationalism wasn't defined by blood. The French, the English etc were always the same. He's also just lying about America's historical civic nationalism - the "Melting Pot" was a concept created by a British Jew in the 19th century, it is not something that normal Americans used to identify with. From the 1790 Immigration Act of the first Congress, naturalization was limited to free white persons; blood and soil nationalism. This conception was only decisively defeated in 1965 with the passage of the Hart Celler act.

The first Congress of the United States passed a naturalization act limiting citizenship to "free white persons" - The Founding Fathers were white nationalists, they never would have supported the "civil rights" movement. @humungus3 Anyone who claims to be right wing or conservative but says that the Nazis needed to be annihilated while it was ok to ally with the communists and hand over half of Europe to them is nothing of the sort. And the Germans had no plans for example, for permanent occupation of Western Europe (as shown for example by their granting half of conquered France self government when they had already conquered it entirely and could do what they wanted) And we could "deal with Stalin" could we? There were places, like Ukraine and Poland, that could not deal with Hitler, because he wanted their land for Germany and intended to destroy them, but the idea that he had plans to conquer the world is just made up nonsense. Meanwhile the people we happily allied with, the Soviet Union, literally did plan to conquer the planet and implement "world communism".
