Ukraine has a third of the population of Russia, has the largest land area in Europe, its army is the biggest in Europe after Russia's, it has been trained to NATO standards, it is funded and supported by the US and EU, and the US and and EU are providing massive intelligence and strategic support. Normal military doctrine says that an attacker needs 3x the forces of an equally capable defender to win. The Russians have only deployed about 200,000 men into Ukraine, which is actually less than the size of the Ukrainian armed forces. And yet Russia is still winning. The idea that this taking them a few months is evidence of them "getting their asses kicked" is laughable Western propaganda. The US fights little tin pot dictatorships like Iraq and Serbia, and its still doesn't have the backbone to go in without bombing them back to the stone age before doing so. Russia fighting Ukraine is the equivalent of the USA fighting Britain and France combined, after 8 years of China funding them to quadruple the size of their militaries.

And gun crime is higher now than when British people were entitled to own semi auto rifles and handguns, so the gun laws are nothing to do with the low rates of gun crime in the UK. The historic population is just generally low in prosperity for crime.

  11. The rest of the world is not left of the American right. You don't have a full understanding of political history. For example having a monarchy is not left of America, it's right of America. Similarly having ordinary people be allowed to have guns is not a "right wing idea" authoritarians have jist portrayed it as such. Traditional conservative societies often forbade weapons ownership to ordinary people and only the elites were allowed to be armed. The American right isn't very right wing at all, it's actually hyper liberal in the proper meaning of the word.

  12. This guy only thinks about money. I like my country, my culture and my people. I don't want to be a "global citizen". I don't care whether the immigrants that turn it into an outpost of a foreign land have money or not. Look at somewhere like Vancouver, there are plenty of nice, clean prosperous neighbourhoods in its suburbs. But in many you won't find a single person from the ethnic group that built those beautiful houses, that city, that country anymore, they're 100% Chinese or Indian now. It doesn't matter how much money those immigrants have, once the founding populations were made to feel like foreigners in their own homes, they left. I want bitcoin to make the developing world prosperous enough that these people don't want to emigrate to the West any more. Very few of them come because they respect our cultures or peoples or histories, they come for economic reasons. If their own nations were prosperous, immigration would fall by 99%.

From 13 we had a .22 rifle range at school for target shooting, then the school's combined cadet force had full power 5.56 cadet versions of the SA Assault rifle (modified to straight pulls) that we were trained on. Most people in the country who own land own guns, there are millions of firearms in the UK. The ugly truth is that the reason for gun control in the UK was always really based on keeping them out of the hands of the plebs. That's why it only really got under way in the 20th century once the threat of communist revolution began to be taken seriously. The "it's to stop crime" justification was always just a pretext.

The thing is,, saying other cryptos are just a testbed and then they can be built as a bitcoin layer if they work, ignores the fact that there is no real difference between an altcoins and a bitcoin layer, they're all just separate blockchains, since despite the PR from projects supposedly "building on bitcoin", Bitcoin's design makes it impractical to actually benefit from it's security etc. So really, why not just be happy with bitcoin being the base layer for all of crypto?
