  1. The foam stock seems quite cool to me, at this moment of prototyping at least. Very easy to make and shape however you like it. It's not supposed to last. Once you get all the details finalized, you'll get it molded properly in plastic, or whatever you like. Making "high build quality" prototypes is simply a waste of time and money. I'm quite convinced plenty of other firearms went through similar stages of very rough development, but we rarely ever see them.

  2.  @geodkyt  I suspect they just sprayed it onto the metal skeleton, shaped it up and presto, you have a stock which is good enough for primary testing. Pretty clever, in my book.
