  1.  @heinzkabofke6791  " but what is the use of said conversion? " Parts interchangeability. Imagine we adopted AR15 for regular soldiers and AUG for armored crews. Considering that soldiers are bound to break, lose or even make pregnant any piece of equipment you give them, it's nice that many of those mishaps can be fixed without much foresight in spare parts procurement.
