  28.  @Wy1995  Attempting to be mature and serious, its clear rebooting us is going to be complex, difficult, and not without pain. It would have been nice if the reporter today had received a serious answer. I think that's what many are reacting to.It was a goofy answer. Of course, people will go after him regardless, but the way he answered did not help. It seem to indicate that he did not know what metric meant. Minimally it was a sloppy reply and did not reassure others.

  31.  @Wy1995  theres been a lot of analysis done on all this mess. It seems fairly clear that was a poor pandemic response in the executive branch. Of course, trump publicly waffled which may reflect the poor planning, preparation and conflicts within his administration at the time. Unfortunately, that had directly affected the number of deaths downstream. I am grateful Newsom shut us down early. If you saw the briefing today by Ghaly today, we are under the "optimistic" curve. It could be they overshot on the models, but it makes me hopeful. Looking forward to the peak and decrease. AND I also expect some bumps for some time. Cant wait for treatments and a vaccine.

  32.  @Wy1995  i would have liked a better, more clear response with a sense of understanding of details or even what the word metrics means in this situations. Pointing to your head and saying the 'metrics are up here' elicits a face palm, a reflex you probably studied in med school. Why coukdnt he just say we are fguring that out and give some examples of variables involved. If you listen to Newsom, the contrast is striking. As far as what else to do, it would be nice if he could have a news conference which doesn't result in pages of fact checking and corrections, as has been the case previously. Also getting thru a nees conference without being peevish, flippant, or aggresive woud be nice. As far as response, he should just do what the experts suggest and roll out surveilance methods including testing instead of being hesitant, something thst contributed to this mess in the first place. The dpa needs to be implemented

The goofy idea for a wall as a soln to illegal crissings 5. Separating kids and families at the border. Thats enuf. And as far as a public speaker, he generally gets kudos for his simplistic speech at rallies. He just not great at more formal things.

  37.  uncle Ricky  thats one of the problems with the guy. It takes YEARS to be 1.even minimally acquainted and 2. Expert in the broad areas required as potus. You just plain old need experience. Ive seen reports where the generals had to tutor the guy on basic Nato stuff. I've also seen a thing where an intelligence officer talks about briefing him and he has absolutely no background. Seriously, trump wouldn't hire someone with no experience to run a complex building project. Wtf, were people thinking when they hired him? I don't think they appreciate whats required. Perhaps pols should do a better job of explaining that. There were so many red flags.the word salad answers at debates, his checkerd business background, there was evidence of fraud This was a a collosal error.

  40.  @Wy1995  and yes I agree with the travel bans. I was like oh thank God. But note, trump only did these after the many other countries and they were weak bans. He just waited too long. His response actionwise has improved. But there was a lost month there of denial and waffling. There are pandemic plans and his admin muffed it. Wed be in better shspe had they not. The biggest problem in all this us testing however. We dont know who has it in tital. We dont know the numbers. And We cant tell where it is overall. The med guys keep banging away at him to get wider testing but he hesitates. Prety sure its epidemiology 101. You cant wait til the hospitals are filled.to know where its at. And we are going to need the testing for any reboot.

Now, as for the metrics thing, the guy asked a serious question and his answer was fairly thin. Metrics for booting us back up would be things like a partial opening accompanied by lots of testing. He could have something serious like that. But instead he gave a rather goofy answer. It didnt instill confidence. Contrast him to the more serious and detailed Gavin Newsom. You may not like his politics but he communicates rather directly. He also doesnt get angry at tough questions and he doesnt bullshit. Which is what trump seemed to be doing.

I think one of the things about trumo that may increase animosity beyond what is normal is that he is so unkind to people with the constant belittlement of others on Twitter etc. Also he seems to have a short fuse . Yes reporters can answer tough and sometimes obnoxious wmqyestions, but the getting angry thing is not good. Also, he has this narcissism problem. He brags sbout himself a lot. There are YouTube's showing one after another of this behavior. Also he lies constantly. And he blames other and doesnt take responsibility for his actions. With covid its been obama,china, the dems, anyone but himself and really a lot if this has been within his responsibility . So bsically, beyond policy issues, he has some big personality issues that many people find repugnant.
