They are selling you what you to hear because they want eyeballs on for ad or subscription revenue. Media covers not only politics but also every aspect of human life. Go look at a magazine stand. And it comes to you as tv, internet, mail, radio. So "the media" is not particularly exact. Since media is pervasive, do you mean just the media you dont like? Btw, go to adfontesmedia.com. they rank various "media" for veracity and bias. You'll see from their famous graph that there is indeed someone in every niche.
