As a German I want to mention that the East German government fell in 1989 when it was clear that A) the government could not send in the German army because they would very likely refuse and B) Russian tanks would not shoot down the protests as they had 30 years earlier. What started as a few hundred ended up in Leipzig literally (if you ignore taht people might be coming from outside the city) everyone who could walk on the streets. Maybe Luka is not that disliked but I still think he is in a very similar position. I heavly doubt he trusts his whole army to be marching into Ukraine and actualyl fighting Ukrainians if he tolds them to do. It's imho more likely at least a part pull an Irish advance like in Braveheart.

  3. It would still be an decleration of war. For both cases it could cause an uprising and in both cases Ukraine might just drop a kinetic greeting on Luka. There is not atomic arsenal a bunch of warlords or Oligarch could fight over like in Russia nad if Ukraine does it, the Belrussian people might well do everything else. AND Russia would now not have an ally but an enemy it's Estern border. I mean imagine you have just overthrown a dictator and there is another one right at yoru doorstep that is responsible for you having one and currently very very busy. You might get certain ideas.

  4. There is another challenge for Putin with a second mobilisation: If the recruits from the first one often got only rusted weapons, what will they get in the second round? I think the pointy stick is a vastly underrated weapon today, but even I will say that it isn't an adequate weapon anymore.
