  1. It's unfair to say that public transport does not make a profit. How many public roads do you know that make a profit? And is the cost of cars figured in when calculating it? Because for the cost of a private car you can use any public transport an awful lot of times.

  2.  @blackhole9961  That soudns liek the train/road costs woudl even be worse there for roads. suburbia is not known for high traffic on residential raods - and they still need to be build and maintained.
