It's so stupid that they have ignored all the historic knowledge of how to live in the desert. And they don't even have solar power on those bridges, right? Even though that would be self-regulated energy system: The more sun, the more cooling need but also the more solar electricity.

@thomasgrabkowski8283 Of course. But basic principles - creating shadows and shaded alleys, white paint etc. are still true. Putting up full-glass fassades is so stupid on so many levels... (who wants to sit there inside the building, getting burned by the sun?? Computer screens hard so see and so on.)

@garyjackson3531 The crucial point is that it doesn't matter if those billionaires are good people or bad people. The crucial point is that they have an vastly bigger influence on daily life than anybody else. The money they have is not only missing from other people's life, it's also creating - intentionally or unintentionally - an imbalance of power that is damaging to the society as a whole. The group you say is so small can - and often has - dicided on the life or death of thousands of people. Or even millions ina few cases. Without any democratic control. That is the structual bad point, and it doesn't matter if those people are good or bad.

That is what I would want to add for "Bauhaus architecture". Living not far away I was actually in there once. I don't like the style, but at least there was a certain aestetic, and more important everything was practical both of which is not true of all for the modernist buildings.

@BLAQFiniks Problem: There isn't a lot cold climate with a lot of sunshine on this planet. Strangely, the cold paces then do be those where there is not much sun. Curious stuff, right?

WOW! That explains a lot. I "always" wondered (as much as as you do if you are a normal person with no connection to architecture) why we only see ugly buildings. I thought it was because of costs. Everyone was complaining about costs after all! And about energy efficiency etc. Then about 3 years ago I saw several independ videos/ TV docus saying this was not the case. The additional cost (for reasonable beauty) is often negligible compared to the cost of the whole building. e.g. in Germany there is a law for 5% "art in the building" for public buildings, that would cover much of it. So why do we still get so many ugly buildings? This video answers it. Because beauty is nearly nowhere teached. And what do you mean they don't learn how to sketch??
