Yes. It's like those traditional feet bindings on Chinese women. They make cute feet and obedient women. The women may not be able to ever walk properly and it hurts the whole life, but we just need to accept it, don't try to "rescue" them and not be so ethnocentric, right?

@LukeHartman-ro7hl There are many thigs in every culture that are objectivly bad and should be changed for that society to be better. And it's also generally easier to see that from outside because you are not so used to it.

@victortesla4198 No, a comparison. To make you ask the question: When is it ethnocentric and when is it not? And if it is ethnocentric, does that automatically mean it is wrong? And is it still ethnocentric when you are saying something that the people inside the country also see as a problem?

@LukeHartman-ro7hl The own one of course ;) Moral standards can differ, but there are certain things that (I hope) we all on earth agree on, on least publicy. The US have put that down as "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." The German constitution goes a step further stating that human dignity is inviolable, und subsuming a lot of stuff under that (like the right to privacy). Regardless of that I think the old speech of the US writ is a lot more poetic and better captures the heart of the matter. And it is that heart that is the moral standard we have all agreed upon. So the question WHO gets to decide is wrong one, because we all already did.

@LukeHartman-ro7hl I am nnot saying teh US way is the right way. I mean the US way does not even conform to that preamble. But Russia and China - at least officially - have agreed on those things too. I do not know enough about the Middle East, so I won't judge. For the rest, you never asked about enfocing, don't move the goalpost, and I already said that going to decide is not a question, because it has been decided or is "self-evident". If you cannot follow that, I suggest putting a few days into basic philosophical concepts. Luckily for you all big philosophical schools have been "invented" 2000+ years ago in at least Greece, India and China seperately (you could also say they agreed upon their inquiry of humanity), so you have a lot of options to choose from.
