  16. Thank you so much for this. I really can relate to the german woman. I too wished I started sooner. Well, in my case, it was about learning. I was learning japanese as teenager but then I stopped because everyone told me to focus on western languages more and live in west. And that's what I did, I gave up on japanese, despite me wanting to go to Japan for a long time and I regret it a lot. Living in western countries isn't for everyone. And the worst part is that there is a stereotype that everyone will fit in there. But I never did, I lived in the west because of the opportunites that my country will never have but I suffered and was unhappy. The thing is that everyone expect to fit in in western countries and those who actually don't will blame themselves that there is something wrong with them. Like in Japan for example people know it's difficult because of the culture and society but if you don't fit in the west you will blame youself why can't you fit somewhere where everyone does and I thought there was something wrong with me for years because of that. So now that I'm making friends from the distance with Japanese and I got back to studying japanese again, I will just wait till Japan opens and just try to come. So I too regret that I was scared of Japan because everyone said so. But then again, maybe if I came when I was younger, I would be probably idiolizing Japan too much like a lot of people do and be disappointed, hard to say. But I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who has similiar feelings in your videos. I see a lot of foreigners with similar mindset like I do and I don't feel so out of place.

  112.  @furo.v  Some people are just plain stupid, no matter in what country you are but In russia if you say anything wrong about current leader you will get instant jail time. If you even dare to show empathy to someone or wear specific colors that are tied to ukraine, you get jail time. Im from east europe and the moment I showed some empathy and sadness over the war here, which let me tell you, it's not fun to hear bombers every night, I was told that east europeans deserve it and that we all deserve to die. In every english and russian chat, every where, over and over again I was told we all should just die because we doesn't matter. Yes, some Japanese are like that, but you get that in every country. Americans being overly proud of their countrie's crimes are awful, same with chinese who support their regime, same with russians who support the current war crimes are awful. You have those a lot in other countries too. Except in a lot of other countries you get killed or into jail for saying that. Yes, I have seen some dumb stuff said in Japanese chats but comparing to other countries it wasn't as bad or as common. A lot of the time those people got even called out, while I got laughed at in other countries for suffering. Yes, imperial Japan was awful and it was a mistake, every normal person knows that, however those things happening during that period are still happening in the rest of the world even to this day. I see that every day here. and Ironically it's actually Japanese who showed empathy and kidness for my suffering. That's why you see so many russians and east europeans in Japan. We are at war, we suffer both from war cruelty and poverty. West takes us neo nazis and we don't matter. I lived in UK and it was the worst time of my life. Desite me living in europe, my documents were thrown away by officials and I was denied every help. In west they take us as neo nazis because we are white, while they have more racism in their countries than we have here, in our own country we suffer, russia is harassing us, we do know how it feels to not belonging anywhere. Heck, the only things I can order online are from Japan because everyone else, usa and europe including has a ban for shipping here anything. So a lot of russians and est europeans seek refuge in Japan because west is too aggressive for us and we just want peace and it's impossible to live decently in our own country. I do understand how your experiences upset you but Japanese saying you are not Japanese because you hate imperialistic Japan equals to americans being overly proud of their flag, screaming I MATTER BECAUSE I'M AMERICAN, same for russians and their brainwashed brains sucking up to Putin, etc. You have those everywhere but that doesn't mean everyone in that country is the same. Japanese may not be so expressive but everyone is different, everyone is unique in their own way in every country. Sorry for the long rant
