If the reason was Islam, why aren't Afghanistan and Porkistan rich? On the other hand, Islam is so regressive that it holds Islamic countries back. The evidence is the low numbers in terms of education levels, world class universities, research institutes, patents, world class companies, etc. from the combined 57 Islamic countries in the last 100 years!
