  1. No, the pain WILL subside, but that doesn't mean things will get better. For some of us, things just keep getting gradually worse our entire lives.

  2. I think it's due to several things. Many of our parents got divorced, so boys were raised by their Moms. Moms are great, but aren't equipped to teach a boy how to become a man and attract a woman. We end up believing that women are sweet and caring, and mean what they say. So when we meet a girl who tells us how much she loves and cares about us and that she'd never leave us out of nowhere, we believe her. Which makes it hurt that much more when she leaves us out of nowhere for another guy later that same week. The other thing is guys believing that if they work on themselves and get into shape and become outgoing, confident and charismatic, girls will want them more. So when a guy does all that only to find that girls are still just as disinterested as before, it causes a lot of anger and depression. Basically, guys are lied to and told that if we do A we'll get B. But many guys discover you can crush A but B never comes.

I hear and see people who break up and are with someone else just a few months later, or even dated several people during that time, or how people talk about if you get dumped, you just gotta go out and choose someone new, and I'm like...how can I transfer to whatever reality they're living in? Because when I get dumped, I know it will be months if not years before I find a girl who's interested in me. And when/if that happens, I have no choice who it is, it's either get with her or go another long stretch with nothing.
