Southwest Airlines had one of those years ago, a woman who after almost every flight wrote a letter complaining about something or other. Her thick file finally made it to CEO Herb Kelleher, who promptly wrote back: "Dear Mrs. Crabapple, We will miss you. Love, Herb".

Yes, it did. The 1980 movie "Airplane" was mostly a spoof of "Flight Into Danger" - with a side lesson on how not to greet a friend named Jack in an airport.

I've seen Nicole in some of Mike's previous videos going back several years, including a cruise. Maybe one day the sign-off will be updated to both of them saying, together: "We don't know where we're going next, but we know we want you there with us".

One of my favorite videos: a woman complained to a flight attendant about a black man sitting beside her. The attendant spoke to the captain, who told her to move one of the 2 passengers to first class - and it wasn't Ms. Poison Tongue! She sat there looking totally deflated. I always love seeing people like that get their comeuppance.

Mike, my experience in 787-9 Signature Class Toronto-Calgary just before Christmas last year was much like yours, but shorter and nothing behind the scenes. I didn't have time between flights to use the lounge in Toronto. I loved the pod seats but the table took me a while to figure out. Surprisingly, no washroom tour which I've come to expect. The washroom on my 787 was just a few steps back from my seat; it was spacious and had a folding door. The downside: my bag missed the connection in Toronto; AC sent it to me at my sister's in Calgary the next day, and gave me a 15% credit for my next flight. IDKWYGNBIKIBTWY.

@yvr2002rtw Even before that, many companies cut back on business class travel, and airlines wanted to fill the seats. So I managed to get more than a few J class trips in Embraers, which had 2-1 seating. I usually got a single, often 1A. The first thing I'd tell the flight attendant when boarding was that I knew the standing joke about that seat - if I were any further forward I'd be in his/ her seat.

@kyle604 Much of the plot of "Flight Into Danger" and its spoof "Airplane". Both pilots and a number of passengers were stricken with food poisoning. The only person who could land the plane was a former fighter pilot who hadn't flown in some time. One of Mike's previous videos showed him landing a 737-800 simulator at YVR.
