I was surprised you'd wear closed shoes on a day that hot, but in an air conditioned car, you can slip them off while you're driving.

  9. Hot as Alberta (and Saskatchewan and Manitoba) can be, usually it's a dry heat. They seldom get the humidity that so often aggravates Eastern heat waves.
