  3. Manitoba licence plates in the early 1970s boasted of its "100,000 Lakes" - a ripoff of Minnesota's "10,000 Lakes". The standing joke was that 90,000 of Manitoba's lakes were potholes on Winnipeg's Main Street.

  4.  @loverebel6632  I'm not Winnipeg native, but I lived there from 1967-73 while my dad was posted there with the military. I've been back twice, in 2001 and 2011.
