I expect all these anti-Jew, anti-Islam people commenting here would be anti-Catholic a few decades ago. Or anti(Irish, Italian, Pole, etc). Haters gotta hate.

That's a whole lot of assertion and generalization with no substantiation. Nice going.

Jim I think you hit the nail on the head with the simple phrase, "...create small communities where people are socially active with one another." Whether urban, suburban or rural, people's sense of neighbor, of neighborhood, of community has slipped away. How many people know the family next door? How many feel comfortable letting kids play outside, in knowledge another responsible adult will have an eye out. How many sit on the front porch and wave to others out for a stroll? I could go on but you know what I mean. I don't know what the cause is. This started going south before the current round of refuge/immigrant troubles. Besides, there have always been assimilation struggles. But this change means we're all surrounded by strangers and the unknown. It is an unnatural extreme and it generates extreme behaviors on the left and right.

+Jim I would take issue with your statement, " It is also obvious that the political Left use violence a lot more often than the Right. They use censorship as a means of shutting down any form of free speech." I can accept your example of censorship. But that widens the definition substantially. And that is my complaint. Your statement is too broad to carry much meaning. The stats on violence depend on time and place, and what one is looking at. For example, in the US in the last 25 years, the majority of mass shootings and bombings have been done by right leaning, religious sorts; not one was done by or in the name of a left-leaning cause. But if you go back to the 70s, it was by the leftists. See what I mean? I understand what you say about the press of time and the constraints of the venue. We just have to use the tools at hand and try to cope.
