  1. Scanning these negative comments just makes me sad that people can grow to adulthood and have such poor comprehension abilities. You miss the main message of the allegory, which is about the obligations of citizens in a democracy. The truths of the painter's time are still true today. Such blindness and parochialism, suggests a deep guilt and need to protect ego. Trump was used because he is topical and frankly does provide examples that are pertinent to the theme. But it could have been others in other times. You miss the glory and complex richness in the world when you cast it all in black and white.

  2. +Cathy I see nothing in this that can not be applied to any president, because it in fact applies to every nation and government. The talk is about the relationship of power and people, about responsibility. It is a sad statement about our times that Trump provides uncomfortable examples. It is even more sad that you have to look to people Trump admires to find similar examples. It is becoming clear to me and many others that Trump works within a structure of personal loyalty and dispensation of favors for favors. That works in a business. In government it works too, primarily in dictatorships and monarchies. The topic of the presentation is in opposition to those forms. So Trump is appropriate and more meaningful to the audience than others such as Duterte .

You have a time frame set LoL Oh, I'd like to amend my reply to your item #1 about the bus business. I should have supported my position that you lie about that. My support? Trump admitted he said it. He tried to justify it as saying it is locker room talk. He didn't say it wasn't him. He didn't say it was fake news. He didn't actually say that he never grabbed a woman that way. All the suits against him suggest that he did force himself on people who had no interest in him or his... little hands...
