Hardin your reply simply confirms that you all don't listen or pay attention. I'm pretty sure you didn't listen to the presentation. Back in school, you must have sat at the back of the class with the other boys and shot paper wads at each other. TED's OWN description (click on "Show More") puts the lie to your whining. To wit:
"The TED Talks channel features the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world's leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes (or less). Look for talks on Technology, Entertainment and Design -- plus science, business, global issues, the arts and more."
"...plus science, business, global issues, the arts and more."
This clearly falls under global issues because gentrification is a problem in many countries. Obviously, it falls under "and more." So suck it up. You and your fellow chorus line boys are on the far distant wrong side of this one.
But the sad thing is you have a chance to broaden your horizons and hear different opinions, probably learn something new, and you blow it. You clap your hands over your ears and squeeze your eyes shut tight. You shout out your chorus of SJW! FEMINISTA! COMMIE! before you hear the message. The risk to your bubble is just too, too great. Bunch of babies.
