  4. In a bit of irony, NPR Morning Edition and Propublica announced today (5/12/2017) that The United states is the most dangerous developed country for a woman to give birth in. According to CDC a women i 3x more likely to die from childbirth in the US than in Canada. A woman is 6x more likely to die of such complications than in Scandinavia. This puts the lie to arguments that a free market and profit incentives are the best way to assure quality health care. Treating health care as a profit incentive is as immoral in a modern society as slavery was 200 years ago. Factor in ethnicity or income and you see this even more clearly.
