While I agree with and try to follow his simplified day-to-day version of Bayes as part of a skeptic approach to life, But I'm not sure he is talking about habitual, narcissistic liars like Trump. Confirmation bias might play into his supporters responses to him, But many will say openly that they don't care. Something else could be going on there. Part of Trump's strategy is to overwhelm our ability to fact check everything. Even professionals are getting exhausted. This will allow el Trumpo to create his own reality, while undermining our common institutions and values - a stepping stone Franco, Mussolini and Hitler stepped on often during their march to fascism. Meanwhile the rest of us are treated to Lying Donnie calling his ex lawyer a liar. Oh! The humanity!

@heke6791 I agree with you up to a point. Look at the WMD in Iraq lie a prior administration did. Trump has not equaled that yet, luckily. Pretty much all national level and probably state level politicians lie. We need to examine what they claim just as the speaker says. But I do believe there i a quantitative and qualitative difference with Trump. So we disagree about him playing the same game as the others. It may look the same superficially, if you only look at they lying. But look at the misogyny, racism, attacks on institutions like the courts and press and willful misconstrual of unconditional documents too. Look at the seemingly willy-nilly changes of course, claiming credit for fixing problems he caused. Look at his buddy buddy relationships with dictators. These are all tactics used in the 1930s by the people I mentioned earlier, used to become "strong man" leaders of fascist parties and governments. To be clear, I am not saying this is his agenda. But I am raising a yellow flag. I hope you are right!
