  1. Still widely used across North East England always has been, the N word was never heard much ( other than US TV & films) growing up in the 70s.. Coon was always perceived to be a southern expression..Alf Garnett was always going on about em!...I speak as a Geordie "Whitie"..( or Honky for any black US viewers ).. 😊
