As the saying goes " you don't know what you've got until it's gone"... Unfortunately we can see it going, and yet those in power do nothing to stop it ..I'm not a fervent Royalist but believe that stability instills security and for that reason hope Charles just shuts up and gets on with the job like his mother did. As for the Government and Liz Truss... It's gonna be tough...but as the saying goes " when the going gets tough the tough get going"...I bloody well hope so !

@nickmiller76 - compared to Rishi and the rest she's the toughest, apart from Badenoch yep.. a Black woman that's more of a Thatcherite than the Tories could cope with... Strong men, don't make me laugh..last one was Churchill FFS !

@sh-hg4eg - were you alive pre Elizabeths rule to experience the comparison ?.. the Monarch reflects ( or hopes to) the expectations of the people and society, and as such she was more open to scrutiny than any of her predecessors who seldom engaged with those outside the closed shop of the Nobility. And unlike an elected President with the political division that entails. She new you can say more by saying nothing... Compared to the likes of Putin, Trump, Macron, Bolsonaro etc (and the numerous tin pot Presidential dictators around the world)... The UK, Canada, Australia & NZ etc know it works, and as the saying goes " if it ain't broke don't fix it"
