  1. I first came accross James Delingpole a couple of years ago, when he wrote a small column in the Western Daily Press. He ( rightly) was attacking a outbreak of sanctimonious self righteousness madness, of the worst and most pointless kind. Coming from the Far Left / Liberals of the City, ( where else) they were spreading hatred towards one of Bristol City's greatest benefactors--the great Edward Colston. Many well known examples of the mans acknowledged generosity i.e Schools , Statues , placgues , and the famous ''Colston Hall'. ALL of which, they wanted erased or name changed. All because, apparently , unbeknown to this generation, Colston's money, was gained by trading in slaves, as millions had since the Ancient Egyptians. As if any of their protestations , would make any difference to what had occurred 200 years before. The up-starter of this madness, was the Labour MP for Bristol West, Thangam Debbonaire.. I kid you not.
