@WealthismTelugu —- but Congress didn’t get a majority on its own.

Sanjay Garg — Congress didn’t win majority on their own (only seven seats more than BJP) but they had to seek the support of other regional parties to form a khichdi Sarkar which led to the most corrupt coterie in independent India. Now to answer your valid Q. Enter Modi in 2014 and he changed the rule book and made it a presidential kind of election. I will quote only two examples to show how his style impacted national politics. In Punjab people voted for Amarinder and not for Congress; in W Bengal too the votes are for Mamata rather than for TMC.

Sanjay Garg —- are you a shrink? First you spoke of “out of box thinking”, then “perception deficit”. I am not an expert to dispute your diagnosis. I was only commenting on the style of electioneering. Yes, a decade of great economic growth but remember unbridled corruption must have shaved off at least 20% of GDP. Your “aaseervathams” taken in the right spirit.
2
Sanjay Garg — your frankness and directness is nothing but a smokescreen to hide your frustration and helplessness to take on Modi. Keep your hatred of Modi to yourself and do not pass it on to his supporters calling them a “wall”! Utterly disgusting.

@marthanddhamdere5642 — yes, yes, he resorts to semi personal attacks. These anti Modi brigade waste their energies on social media without preparing a leader to take Modi head on.

The bait of Presidentship is still there to stymie his efforts to move against Modi.

Sanjay Garg — so, you say it should be a cakewalk for the opposition to defeat Modi. Pray, tell me who is that Prince/Princess Charming.

@marthanddhamdere5642 — fantastic suggestion to prove that PK is the emperor of election strategy.
1
Sanjay Garg —- you may be right about “out of box thinking” because this octogenarian is listening to too many TV debates and responding to social media posts. Yet I maintain that you need a credible pan India face to take on Modi. Modi cannot be defeated by any others but only by himself.

@marthanddhamdere5642 — what you say may be true. Nothing succeeds like success. So, PK may be thinking of one final election strategy to end all strategies, an ultimate crowning glory. If he succeeds he may be dreaming of a stint in Rashtrapathi Bhavan.

This is the only possible scenario if Modi has to be unseated. But the million dollar Q is whether Congress would swallow their pride and give up the field for others.
