  1. 16 Million men and hundreds of thousands of women served in WWII for the U.S. out of a population of about 100 million! Most of them were just 18, 19 and 20 years old! If that war were fought today with a population of 330 million - 50 Million men would be in uniform before it was over! The Greatest Generation - who came of age in the crucible of The Great Depression - saved the world from tyranny!
