Amazing firsthand account! All the miraculous changes he witnessed in his lifetime. The telephone. Indoor plumbing. The automobile. The airplane. Radio. Experimental television (1939). Sound motion pictures. Color photography. And so much more. Just his personal memory of the Civil War as a young man is unbelievable.

Amazing! Thanks for adding his bio. He seems so intelligent but with a sense of humor as well. All the modern changes he witnessed in his lifetime!

This is all very fascinating. But where are the golden plates that Joseph Smith is supposed to have discovered on a hill near Palmyra, NY 1823, after being directed to them by the angel Moroni, that he claimed to have translated into the Book of Mormon? Or was it all made up?
